SWEDISH MASSAGE-is the most commonly taught and well known massage technique.  It is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body, by stimulating circulation.  Five basic strokes all flowing to the heart are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body.  The many benefits of Swedish Massage include relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue, adhesions and improved circulation.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE-A technique that utilizes deep tissue/deep muscle massage to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia.  These techniques require advanced training and a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology.  Muscles must be relaxed to effectively perform deep tissue massage otherwise tight surface muscles prevent the practitioner from getting to the deeper muscles.  This helps with chronic muscle pain and injury rehabilitation, and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis.  Generally deep tissue massage is done along with other massage techniques.

REFLEXOLOGY-involves manipulation of specific reflex areas in the foot, hands and ears that correspond to other parts of the body.  Sometimes referred to as zone therapy.  This bodywork involves application of pressure to reflex zones to stimulate body organs and areas of congestion.  Reflexology works with body's energy flow to stimulate self healing and maintain balance in physical function.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE MFR-is used to treat restrictions in the body's muscles and connective tissue(fascia), by using gentle pressure.  This is effective for relief of cervical pain, fibromyalgia, back pain, chronic pain and headaches.

ACUPRESSURE-is an ancient healing art using fingers to press key points on the skin's surface to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities.  Acupressure uses the same points as Acupuncture without the needles.

PRENATAL MASSAGE-is therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience.  We offer pregnancy cushion to make the mother-to-be comfortable and supported during the massage session.
